NWTP TAXI THEORY CLASS
TO HELP PEOPLE PASS DVA TAXI THEORY TEST
This course will give you the knowledge, ability and strategies to pass the Taxi Theory Test. This course has a proven track record.
NEW COURSE STARTING IN SEPTEMBER
We are taking contact details for a new course starting in September. The course usually takes six weeks to complete. Participants get the materials in advance and can pass it sooner.
Once the theory is passed we will assist you to pass the taxi driving test. We have a driving instructor in the northwest who will prepare you for the test. Then we will assist you with your taxi drivers application. Once you have a TDL (Taxi Drivers Licence) we will help you get a job.
The whole process usually takes 12 to 14 weeks but can be slowed down with repute and medical issues for up to 16 to 20 weeks.
The course will be delivered online and in a classroom for those who wish to attend in person.
The course will be on Tuesday mornings at 10:15 to 12:15. Start date to be arranged.
So, if you want to be a taxi driver before Christmas you need to book a place on this latest course. Limited amount of places.
We are working closely with the Jobs & Benefits offices to create opportunity for unemployed people to become self-employed taxi drivers. If you are on Universal Credit then Jobs & Benefits will pay for this course including the training and DVA fees.

ABOUT THE DVA TAXI THEORY TEST
NWTP TAXI THEORY COURSE
This course is aimed at people wishing to pass the Taxi Theory Test. We believe that there is a lack of resources to help people with the test. This course will provide resources and support to help people pass the test.
Over 170 people have passed the Taxi Theory Test after completing our course.
TWO PARTS TO THEORY TEST
The Taxi Theory Test is made up of two main parts, the multiple-choice test (consisting of 100 questions) and the hazard perception test (consisting of 14 video clips).
Both parts are sat at the same time, and must be passed before a theory test certificate will be issued.
The tests, which are computer based, will test your knowledge and understanding of a number of topic areas including driving theory, the Highway Code, best driving practice and issues about the taxi industry.
RESULTS SPLIT INTO FOUR BANDS
The Taxi Theory Test results are divided up into four bands (you will not see the bands during the test):
· Band One - Road Procedure and Responsibilities, Eco safe Driving and The Environment
· Band Two- Traffic Signs and Signal, Vulnerable Road Users and Mechanical Knowledge
· Band Three - Health and Safety, Legal Responsibilities and Safe Loading of the Vehicle
· Band Four - Customer Care, Carriage of Vulnerable Passengers and Passenger Comfort and Safety

SIX WAYS TO FAIL
The test has six ways to fail built into it.
You must score 18 or more in each of the four bands (each band has 25 questions)
You must score 80 or more overall (out of 100 questions)
You must score 50 or more in the Hazard Perception
WORDY QUESTIONS - SLOW DOWN - READ
The Taxi Theory Test is divided up into four bands which you cannot identify during the test. Some questions are very wordy, we advise you to read all questions twice before answering.
We strongly advise against scanning during the test (scanning, reading too quick – not reading it properly). Slow down and read each question twice and understand what the question is asking.
If you do not know the answer you can 'flag' a question to come back to at the end. Make sure you unflag and answer flagged questions.
